OUR FOUNDING STORY
Project Barkada was formed
by Deirdre Levy, Joey Golja, and Lugao Kasberg in New York City, the epicenter of Covid-19 pandemic, during the Spring of 2020 as a way to help those in the community most at risk. They worked with local businesses to bring food and drinks to front line workers, healthcare providers and people in need.
Since then, they have delivered over 180,000 meals, spanning all five boroughs of New York City and the Philippines. To this day, they continue to bring communities together, growing their purpose of helping one 'Barkada' at a time.
